Starting this month, the month of March, I am all about new beginnings! I have activated a new theme on the site [Courtesy of N.Design Studio]. I am also in the process of becoming a proud partner on Youtube as well. I have been accepted, except they have not activated my tools yet.
Anyway, I am also changing up the form of my videos. Starting this Wednesday, I will be presenting some brand new things to my Youtube channel, itsthemacaddict. Since I am now part of Apple, I can no longer post “Apple Rumor” videos, but I will now be posting general tech videos/ reviews/ unboxings, Adobe CS3/4 Tutorials, other screencasts, and some [2] other surprises that will be coming soon! [One of the two surprises have to do with iWeb and recreations!]
I am very happy with all that has turned out lately. I have launched a Twitter account [@neatmacapps] and it already has 130 followers within the first few weeks! Gosh I am happy. We are also working on a website for @neatmacapps at http://neatmacapps.tk. We had one version up, but we are redesigning, again to accommodate some new features to the site!
Lastly, I am working on some other projects that will benefit the Youtube and Twitter community, so stay tuned to the blog! Become a fan on Facebook to get all the updates! Link above in website header area.
Many have wondered and even sent me emails asking me why I am not posting on this blog. There are a few particular reasons for the lack of posting that I will be discussing in this post. Most are very happy reasons, so this shouldn’t be too much of a sad article.
If you have noticed, I have been posting less “Apple-oriented” videos. Why is that, exactly? Recently, I have been joined on as a developer for Mac apps with Apple. I have agreed to the Non-Disclosure Agreement and obviously cannot reveal any information that I might know that you don’t. I am very happy with this new project, and I hope you are too.
Secondly and lastly, a lot of hate has been going around Youtube lately and I have caught the hate bug. Many people have been leaving nasty comments, and honestly I just ignore them. But, it is getting to the point where it cannot go on any longer. I will continue to ignore to see how this all works out.
In conclusion, I will not be posting as often, of course, because, I am working on some new projects. Personal blog updates can be found at http://alexleiphart.com/. Thank you.
http://formspring.me/alexleiphart – Ever since I posted the last “Ask Alex” episode, I have gotten a boatload of questions on my Formspring account. I try to answer all of them and usually I do, so if you really want to ask me something, ask it there! I then choose the best questions and feature them in this video! In this episode, I talk about my tech equipment, why I do what I do, Route 66 and how much a woodchuck can chuck wood (or something like that!). If you have a question, feel free to ask on Formspring!
This video is probably the result of over 30 requests to do a room tour! I decided to finally do one…are you happy? I explain how I do things around here. You will see that I do all my amazing videos from my home office. What do you think of my setup? Leave a video response of your setup for me! I would love to see them as it might bring inspiration!
Chomp, Chomp, Chomp and a little more….Chomp! This app gives you recommendations based on apps you currently own as well as one YOU review! Simply sign up for an account on Chomp and sign in on the home app screen. You can see apps users are currently reviewing. See a user that has particularly good reviews? Follow them! When you follow, you can see all their app updates in real time!
When the app recommends apps, the user can bookmark the app for later download and review. One downside of the app is that you cannot download the app inside the application currently. You have to manually go to the app store, search for it, then download it. Hopefully this will change in a future release of the app.
Otherwise, I think it is a great app that I recommend to anyone that’s searching for new apps to waste their time on their iPhone and iPod Touch (Just Kidding).

Celebrating Facebook’s anniversary (I’m not quite sure which one), they have decided to redesign the site. The new design makes Facebook easier to use and navigate. Mostly everything is in the same place on the screen, but with a different look. At the same time, many things have changed.
On of the major things I saw change is that they have three icons at the top: Friend Requests, Messages, and Notifications. I thought that was kind of a cool idea since those are the three most popular utilities I use on Facebook. Before, I had to scroll through all my stupid Farmville requests to get to my friend requests.
On the homepage, you have “Top News” and “Most Recent”. These are similar to the old tabs, “Live Feed” and “News Feed”. The only difference is that before the News Feed was just a bunch of random posts, when now the Top News is well, top news.
On the left of the homepage, you will see a brief list of your friends that are online, which is new. You also have more categories that you can use to categorize your posts on your homepage. The personal profiles have not really changed.
I am very happy with the changes that Facebook made. But I will admit, I was just getting used to the previous redesign. They do redesign the site a little to much. Stick to one design, please!
How do you like it? Some of my past new videos are now in HD size AND quality! I decided to wait on the unboxing video, because I wanted to test the Flip MinoHD. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. Obviously, this video could not be shot or uploaded in HD, so sorry about the lower quality.
Do you think HD is worth it?
